Temporary residence project Saifee Burhani Park

A new transit camp project is taking shape in the Anjirwadi district in the city of Mumbai. The high-rise tower will function as a temporary housing for the residents of Bhendi Bazar. The accommodation will be provisional and free of charge for the duration of 15 years while clusters 3A and 3B are being built. The large-scale redevelopment will result in a dramatic change to the face of Bhendi Bazar. Developer is the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust, whose aim is to promote a sense of community living – a preview of what is to come in the larger context of the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Project.

Contractor Noor Enterprises is one of the fastest growing property and building group of companies in the country. Project management chose state-of-the-art formwork technology for concrete works in order to guarantee both safety and speed as a matter of policy: AluFix hand-set formwork is climbing on MGC guided climbing platforms, while the inside shaft walls rely on MEVA’s shaft platforms to climb. The advantage of this combination is that the formwork is assembled and set by hand. A special feature of AluFix is its ergonomic grip profile, which makes handling easy, safe and slip-free even in wet conditions.

Noor Enterprises achieves high quality on its pours thanks to the all-plastic facing alkus that is standard in all MEVA’s formwork systems.

MEVA engineers in Mumbai are active in assisting the project with detailing, planning, supervision and support. This contributes to a consistently safe work flow and on-schedule progress, punctual to the day.

One of Ontario’s busiest transportation corridors, Highway 400, began a major expansion project through Kings Township in late 2016. This $79.3 million dollar (CAD) project includes the widening of the highway from three to six lanes in each direction for a two mile stretch and also entails safer on and off ramps, the expansion and realignment of culverts, and the replacement of two bridges − one of them the South Canal Bridge.
